Should You Buy Lamar Jackson After A Down 2020? Buy, Sell, Hold

Lamar Jackson followed up his MVP season in 2019 with a playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills in 2020. A bounce-back season paired with dipping prices could be the perfect scenario to buy the Ravens QB this offseason.

5. Julio Jones

Jones is almost certainly leaving Atlanta for the 2021 season, but where he lands is something to monitor. A hamstring injury limited the star wide receiver in 2020, but he’s still one of the all-time greats when you look at total yards and catches.

While Jones’ cards in Market Movers are currently down 26% over the last 30 days, his 2011 Topps Base PSA 10 is up 26% over the last 60. That paper rookie has a POP of just 278, so it could provide good value if you don’t mind buying receivers.

4. Lamar Jackson

Jackson followed up his MVP season in 2019 with a down year in 2020 — the Ravens got bounced by the Bills in the playoffs 17-3. Baltimore reloaded the offensive line, though, so Jackson could be in for a strong season behind a stronger front.

His 2018 Optic Base PSA 10 is down 28% over the last 30 days while his 2018 Donruss Base PSA 10 is down 33% over the same period.

3. Devin Booker

The Suns and Lakers are tied 1-1 (as of Thursday afternoon) in the first round of the playoffs, and Booker has done everything he can in his first playoff appearance. He’s one of the NBA’s most gifted scorers, but whether he can round out his game is the question collectors have been asking.

Booker’s 2015 Prizm Base PSA 10 is down 10% over the last 30 days.

2. Ichiro Suzuki

One of MLB’s all-time great hitters, Ichiro wrapped up his career with a few down years, but that won’t stop him from landing in Cooperstown on the first ballot in 2025. His cards in Market Movers are down 9% over the last 30 days, though it’s more important to monitor his stock over the next few years rather than days.

Ichiro’s green-bordered Topps rookie is a tough grade — there’s just 128 PSA 10s out of nearly 3,000 total grades. His 2001 Topps Base PSA 9 is a reasonable target in terms of population, and is up 6% over the last 30 days.

If the PSA 9 is out of range, the 2001 Topps Base PSA 8 is down 14% over the last 30 days but still has a POP of just 1,520.

1. Rafael Devers

Devers has really turned things up for the Red Sox in 2021, and could be in line for his first All-Star appearance. As of Wednesday night, Devers was 5th in the league in homers and 3rd in RBI.

His 2018 Topps Base PSA 10 is down 4% over the last 30 days while the chrome version has stayed even over that same period.
