How Much Does Julio Jones Help AJ Brown? Buy, Sell, Hold

Tennessee Titans wide receiver AJ Brown had a monster season in 2020, so can things get even better with star Julio Jones landing with the Titans this offseason?

We cover that and more in this week’s Forecast:

Kevin Durant

Durant has been playing at an unbelievable level this postseason, and he’s had to do much of it without sidekicks Kyrie Irving and James Harden. He dropped 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over the Bucks on Tuesday, and now has fans discussing if he’s the NBA’s best player.

Durant’s 2007 Topps Base PSA — the white border from the factory set — is down 35% over the last 30 days while his 2007 Topps Chrome Base PSA 10 is down 37% over the same period.

Geoff’s pick: Hold

AJ Brown

Brown had a breakout season in 2020 with 70 catches for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns, and he could be in for an even bigger year in 2021. The Titans added star WR Julio Jones in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, and Jones should take a good amount of pressure off of Brown moving forward.

Brown’s 2019 Optic Base PSA 10 is up 146% over the last 365 days while his 2019 Prizm Base PSA 10 is up 317% over the same period.

Geoff’s pick: No Pick

DK Metcalf

Like Brown, Metcalf had a monster 2020 in his second season in the league. The Seahawks star pulled in 83 passes for 1,303 yards and 10 TDs while becoming one of the NFL’s elite talents.

Metcalf’s two key rookies — his 2019 Prizm and Optic cards — were especially liquid over the last year, selling over 270 times despite a combined POP of just 617.

His 2019 Prizm Base PSA 10 is up 133% over the last 365 days while his 2019 Optic Base PSA 10 is up 111% over the same period.

Geoff’s pick: Buy

Lionel Messi

The 2022 World Cup might be Messi’s last, and collectors have been buying him accordingly. Messi’s rookie lineup from 2004 is especially expensive, with his 2004 Mega Cracks Base PSA 10 averaging about $28,000 over the last year.

Plenty of collectors have gotten in on Messi’s rookies over the last year, though there has been a major shift to ultra-modern non-rookies in key sets due to the high cost of entry.

Messi’s 2004 Panini Mega Cracks Base PSA 10 is up 713% over the last 365 days while his 2014 Prizm World Cup Base PSA 10 is up 11% over the same period.

Geoff’s pick: Buy

Sabrina Ionescu

The WNBA’s popularity has grown significantly both in and out of the hobby, and Ionescu has been a major reason why. She’s carried her starpower from Oregon to the New York Liberty, though a serious ankle sprain has limited her availability since joining the league in 2020.

She’s been the clear star of the WNBA’s ultra-modern products, however, with her 2020 Prizm WNBA Base PSA 10 up 27% over the last 30 days and 96% over the last year.

Geoff’s pick: No Pick
